Maker Methodology x New Process Life Cycle

In the latest episode of the New Process Podcast, I spoke to Martin Hochreiter and Tobias Zucali, the founders of “mkrz lab” that gets people to think with their hands. But where can we apply the Maker Methodology? Is it really only in the implementation phase or can it also be used in other steps of the New Process Life Cycle? Check out the video for their explanation.

  • Define Process Purpose: Expand focus through intuitive creation by using body-involved prototypes, gathering multiple perspectives through creative methods, and encouraging critical thinking with prototypes that allow for various interpretations.
  • Develop Process Strategy: Develop strategies by creating maps that outline the process journey and by visualizing the current state and desired outcomes to create a clear action plan.
  • Design Process: Use human-centered approaches by activating groups in co-creation workshops, building physical prototypes to make processes tangible, and conducting process walk-throughs for full immersion.
  • Implement Process: Communicate the process clearly using language, symbols, and artifacts developed in earlier steps, and enhance understanding through role play and simulations.
  • Steer Process Execution: Reflect and adapt by using materials to visualize the current process state, collaboratively redesigning it for improvement, and creating symbolic objects as communication tools.
  • Improve Process Execution: Continuously enhance the process by redesigning, prototyping, and testing new solutions based on previous learnings to ensure effective improvements.
